Post achievements straight to Discord

When you unlock an achievement, the share window can post the card and caption into a Discord channel with one click. It uses a Discord webhook: a private link that lets PrepXP post into one channel. You set it up once.

1. Create the webhook in Discord

  1. In Discord, open the server and hover over the channel you want to post in. Click the gear icon (Edit Channel). On a phone, long-press the channel and tap Edit Channel.
  2. Go to Integrations, then Webhooks, then New Webhook.
  3. Click the new webhook to open it. Set its Name to what the posts should show as, for example PrepXP. Optionally upload a picture (the PrepXP avatar below works well).
  4. Check the Channel is the one you want, then click Save Changes.
  5. Click Copy Webhook URL.

Don't see Integrations or Edit Channel? You need the Manage Webhooks permission on that server. Ask a server admin to create the webhook for you and send you the link in a private message.

Download the PrepXP avatar (512 × 512 PNG) for your webhook's picture.

2. Connect it in PrepXP

  1. Open any achievement's share window and expand Post straight to a Discord channel with one click.
  2. Paste the webhook link into the box and click Connect.
  3. PrepXP checks the link with Discord. When it works, the box changes to a Post to Discord button that says which name it posts as.

3. Post

Edit the caption if you like, then click Post to Discord. The card and caption appear in the channel as "Your name via PrepXP" with the webhook's picture, and the card says who earned it. Your name is the one PrepXP greets you with on the Today screen. Captions can't ping @everyone or anyone else.

Discord questions and fixes

Is the webhook link safe to share?

No. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can post into that channel. PrepXP keeps it only on your own device and never shows it again after you connect. If it leaks, delete the webhook in Discord (channel settings, then Integrations, then Webhooks) and make a new one.

How do I post to a different channel?

Either open the webhook in Discord and change its Channel (nothing changes in PrepXP), or click Disconnect next to the Post to Discord button and connect a webhook from the other channel.

How do I change the name or picture the posts show?

Posts show your PrepXP name, so change the name on the Today screen (click it in the greeting). The picture comes from the webhook: edit it in Discord under channel settings, then Integrations, then Webhooks. If you haven't set a name in PrepXP, posts use the webhook's own name.

"That isn't a Discord webhook URL"

The link should start with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/. Use Copy Webhook URL on the webhook itself, not the channel's invite or message link.

"That webhook no longer exists in Discord"

The webhook was deleted, or the channel was. Click Disconnect in the share window, create a new webhook and connect it.

"Discord is rate-limiting posts"

Discord limits how fast a webhook can post. Wait the number of seconds shown and try again.
